Our Team

Dr. Daniella Atwell,
PhD, LPC, CST, CCTP, MAC, CPCS

CEO/Director

Hi, I’m Dr. Daniella Atwell,  a Licensed Professional Counselor and Certified Sex Therapist with a PhD in Clinical Sexology. I’m also a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional and a Certified Counseling Supervisor, with over 18 years of experience helping individuals, couples, and families navigate life’s challenges.

My therapeutic approach is integrative, drawing from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma-Focused CBT (TF-CBT), mindfulness, emotion regulation, and trauma-informed care. I specialize in working with trauma, sexual trauma, moral injury, anxiety, depression, substance use disorders, and relationship concerns,  including those that impact intimacy and sexuality. Whether you’re unpacking the emotional weight of past experiences or seeking greater connection in your relationships, I help guide you in safely releasing what no longer serves you.

As a BIPOC and LGBTQIA+ aligned therapist, I bring lived experience and deep cultural sensitivity to my work. I recognize how identity, intersectionality, and systemic oppression affect mental health. I strive to create a space where you don’t have to explain or justify who you are — a space where you can be fully seen, heard, and supported.

My goal is to help you become the version of yourself that feels most authentic, grounded, and free. Healing is possible, and you don’t have to do it alone.

Under Supervision of Dr. Daniella Atwell

I am a Master’s level therapist with a strong commitment to helping children, adolescents, adults, and families navigate life’s challenges and heal from trauma. With a Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Capella University and a Bachelor’s in Psychology from the University of Phoenix, I bring 4 years of experience in both clinical and community mental health settings.

My approach is compassionate, collaborative, and culturally responsive. I draw from evidence-based practices including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Narrative Therapy, and psychoeducation to meet the unique needs of each client. I believe in building a therapeutic relationship rooted in trust, safety, and respect.

I specialize in working with survivors of trauma, including sexual violence, domestic abuse, and community violence. I also have extensive experience supporting children and families impacted by behavioral concerns, identity development, social interaction challenges, and learning-related difficulties. Whether through individual or group therapy, my goal is to help clients feel empowered, seen, and supported in their healing journey.

I am especially passionate about serving BIPOC and LGBTQIA+ individuals and strive to create a space where all identities are affirmed. Common concerns I address include anxiety, depression, PTSD, grief, relationship challenges, and life transitions.

If you’re seeking a supportive, culturally aware therapist who values your story and identity, I would be honored to work with you or your family.
